From demolition waste to valuable raw material

For a long time, concrete recycling was limited to downcycling applications. S/CRETE is designed to create greater value from construction and demolition waste by qualitative separation of different components that can be reintroduced into the cement and concrete production process. The result is a more circular approach to resource use, where valuable materials remain in circulation instead of being discarded.

The recovery of cementitious constituents from end-of-life concrete, through S/CRETE reduces dependence on primary raw materials. This technology is part of LOESCHE's wider strategy for circular material flows, helping to transform construction waste into a valuable resource for future cement production.

TURNING ALTERNATIVE RESOURCES INTO ENERGY

As the cement industry seeks to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, alternative energy sources are becoming an increasingly important part of the transition. A/FUEL focuses on the utilization of biomass and waste-derived fuels, creating new opportunities to substitute conventional fuels in cement production and make use of resources that might otherwise remain underutilized.

By enabling the preparation and use of alternative fuels, A/FUEL supports a more diversified energy mix within the cement manufacturing process. MAKING BETTER USE OF STEEL MILL SLAGS

As traditional supplementary cementitious materials become scarcer, the cement industry is exploring new sources of clinker substitutes. E/SLAG focuses on using steel slag, converting an industrial by-product into a valuable cement production material and opening up new possibilities for reducing clinker.

Steel slags have been generated in large quantities by the steel industry for decades. E/SLAG is designed to make better use of this existing resource by recovery of metal being reintroduced into the steel making process and upgradation of the mineral fraction. With this, E/SLAG is expanding the range of supplementary cementitious materials available to cement producers and reducing their dependence on conventional clinker substitutes.

REIMAGINING CLAY FOR CEMENT PRODUCTION

Although clay is one of the most abundant natural resources on Earth, its role in cement production has remained limited until now. The C/CLAY technology transforms naturally occurring clays into reactive supplementary cementitious materials, creating new possibilities for clinker substitution and making use of a resource that is available in many regions around the world.

Through calcination and grinding, clay can be converted into a valuable cement constituent that can complement conventional supplementary cementitious materials. With its widespread deposits and established processing technologies, C/CLAY provides cement producers with an alternative way to reduce their clinker content and diversify their raw material sources.

PREPARING FOR THE HYDROGEN ERA

GETTING MORE FROM EVERY PARTICLE

The performance of supplementary cementitious materials depends not only on their composition but also on their fineness. U/FINES focuses on ultra-fine grinding technologies that increase the reactivity of cementitious materials, creating new possibilities for their use in cement production and clinker substitution.

Reducing particle size increases the effectiveness of materials that would otherwise have limited cementitious value in the cement manufacturing process. As part of the GREENKEY Solutions portfolio, U/FINES expands the range of materials that can be used to reduce clinker, helping cement producers make better use of available resources.
