ZKW Otterbein rely on LOESCHE technology
Last year, LOESCHE, a leading global supplier of grinding and processing technologies, was commissioned by Zement- und Kalkwerke Otterbein to perform the delivery, installation and commissioning of a grinding plant, including a LOESCHE vertical roller mill, for the plant in Großenlüder-Müs.
This new grinding plant forms part of ZKW Otterbein’s ‘NovaCEM 2027’ investment package. The fifth-generation family-run company is thus sending a clear signal in favour of climate protection and energy efficiency within an energy-intensive industry. LOESCHE’s environmentally friendly and resource-efficient grinding and processing technologies play a significant role in reducing the carbon dioxide footprint.
ZKW Otterbein plan to operate the grinding plant in ‘swing mode’. This system ensures that various materials can be ground separately with maximum flexibility and without the need for mechanical changes to the mill when changing products, and is currently intended for cement raw meal, limestone meal and ground granulated blast furnace slag. This enables ZKW Otterbein to adapt production very flexibly to current demand.
At the heart of the plant to be supplied is a LOESCHE vertical roller mill with a capacity of up to 115 tonnes per hour, fitted with an LSKS-type classifier and Pronamic® grinding parts. Furthermore, the scope of supply for this EPC project includes the complete mill dust extraction system, pneumatic product transport, process gas ducts, electrical systems and automation, basic civil engineering, as well as steel structure engineering and delivery. LOESCHE will also be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the plant.
LOESCHE is delighted to have secured ZKW Otterbein as a new customer and looks forward to continuing this positive and trusting working relationship.
